Western Europe Cruises
A cruise to Western Europe is perfect for visitors and tourists who want to have a trip around Europe while traveling with the ease of unpacking just once. With these types of cruises, you would be able to visit beautiful and historical cities such as London, Paris, Amsterdam, France, and Spain.
The Western Atlantic Coast is one of the most beautiful places to visit. It covers an area from Sagres (south of the Algarve) to Odeciexe. The coastline has a more striking view than that of the Southern Coast, and is more exposed to the Atlantic weather. This is the reason why it is very popular for surfers. The beaches are picturesque, and are appreciated by those who are lucky enough to stopover.
The port of Rotterdam is ideal for those who wish to tour the canals, windmills and tulip fields of Holland. Along the Spanish coast is the Guggenheim Museum in Bilboa. It is also at close with the popular wine country of the Basque region. One of Europe’s smallest and oldest capitals is Lisbon. It is well known for its history of occupation by the Carthaginians, Celts, Moors, Phoenicians, Romans, and Visigoths.
On your Western Europe cruise, you could expect to see great and historical art of the old times, fine wine and food, and sight-seeing galore. There are also very charming cafés, beautifully constructed gothic cathedrals and some very incredible shopping for fashionistas.
There are great museums in Paris and London. Make sure to visit some of their beautiful museums. Sir John Soane’s Museum is a miniature British museum that exhibits some of London’s most breathtaking tourist attractions. A fun thing to discover is the hidden panels that reveal even more paintings in the museum. The British Museum is also recommendable since it is considered as one of the best museums in the world. It is located north of Covent Garden, on Great Russell Street. They have African collections which are known as the world’s largest with over 200,000 objects and artifacts. It is advisable to have several short trips rather than one long one. A good thing to remember too is that some of these museums close for a long lunch break (usually between 12nn to 2pm), so it is best to visit during the mornings and mid-afternoon.
To get a good taste of how Western Europeans go about living their daily lives, you could try and visit local markets. They have a great taste in picking out fresh fruits, so you could also grab some for a fun picnic lunch or snack. You could also try to explore some of the places on foot. Many European cities are best explored while walking, because it leads you to discovering things that you normally will not notice when you drive a vehicle. So make sure to pack up your most comfortable shoes for the trip.
It is advisable to go during the summer to take advantage of the warm climate. You could also visit during the fall or spring, since there are not much tourists on that particular season. If you are on a tight budget, you could go visit during the winter for the lowest of prices and cruise deals. To get there, you could choose from some of the leading Western Europe cruise liners. It could be the Holland America Line Cruise, Norwegian Cruise Lines, Oceania Cruises, Orient Line Cruises, Regent Seven Seas Cruises, or the Princes Cruises.
